STEP ONE: ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT
To activate your account, please have the following information available:

In the US, activate the device by calling 1-877-818-9728 and a Wherify Customer Care Representative will assist you. Your account will be activated within 1 business day after contacting our Customer Care Representative.

To activate your account outside of the US, you will need to follow the separate activation instructions provided by your Service Provider.



STEP TWO: CHARGE AND SET UP

Understanding GPS Signal Strength
The ability of the GPS (satellite) signal to get to the Wherifone™ will vary depending on the environment in which the device is located. The optimum condition to obtain accurate GPS performance is when there is no obstruction between the open sky and your device. This is when the GPS signal strength is highest. The signal strength may be affected adversely in certain conditions such as under metal or concrete structures, in the middle of an office building or near a powerful radio or other electronic devices.




Optimize the Wherifone™ Locator GPS Performance
It is not uncommon for mobile phones to be misplaced, dropped or treated roughly, especially by active children. You should do the following to increase your ability to locate your child and the device, and to protect the device from damage.

Out in the open. The device works at its optimum when the GPS antenna has clear access to satellite signals. Try to minimize items that could potentially cover the front side of the device. Hang the device on the outer side of a child's bagpack or on their belt using the carabineer or belt clip case. The device will perform best when the child is outside and away from tall buildings and foliage.

Wherifone™ positioning. Make sure the front side of the Wherifone™ is facing upward or outward. If your child places the device inside their shirt, or pants, or backpack pocket, place it with the front side of the device facing outwards.

In a car. When you are in a car, position the device face up and towards a window to get the best access to the sky.

Good network coverage. The device will not work in area where there is no mobile phone cellular coverage.
